According to an article in today's newspaper, flying could become more expensive in the following years.
The reason? More and more passengers demand recompensation because their flight has been delayed.
According to European law, passengers are due a compensation when their flight has a delay of more than 3 hours. As most of our important airports are extremely busy (think of London Heathrow, Frankfurt, Schiphol, ...) chances are that some flights will have a delay.
But the problem is that these recompensations are too high - at last to the airlines. When you have bought a cheap ticket with a low-cost company, you could get your ticket price x 40!!!
Those who are familiar with the business fear that the airlines will raise their prices to cover for these claims.
Good thing I already bought the tickets for this year!!!
