It's Friday afternoon and thus the weekend is beginning. It only looks like autumn outside, so there won't be any open-air fun on Saturday and Sunday.
Well, we have work to do anyway. We are (again) painting our hallway and staircase, which is a lot of work when there are only the two of you. And then you have to take breaks to make coffee or prepare lunch and dinner. You're lucky you can work 6 hours a day that way.
We started this job last year (sigh!) but can only work when the days lenghten and it's not too cold anymore. Hopefully we can finish this job by the end of this month, because we still need to do the living room and dining room.
The only advantage of doing everything yourself is it saves a lot of money. When I would use a professional painter, I'd pay 2 or 3 thousand euro for the job. For that amount I can pay loads of paint and other materials!
When our mother still lived we could work better. She did the cooking and brought us a cup of coffee when we needed it. We only had to come down to eat and then we could continue. In those day we seldom worked longer than a week at a place.
But it is as it is, so we can't complain. The job will get done eventually!
