We're back at the coast for a long weekend. We have to take advantage of the fact it's allowed again to visit your second home.
The sun is shining in all her glory. We've been having long stretches of nice and dry weather. Of course, it should rain every now and then (by preference at night) so that everyone is happy. In certain parts there is already a shortage of water. Soon it will be forbidden to spray your lawn, wash your car or fill your swimming pool with drinking water. No problem for me or my sister, as we already use water sparingly. We don't have a car to wash, no grass to spray, no swimming pool. And we take (short) showers. We close the tab in between when we brush our teeth. We have a toilet with an economical flush.
So we are truly enjoying this beautiful weather. It's so nice to be walking on the promenade or beach once more, to feel the breeze on your skin and in your hair, to smell the sea air. We'd be more than happy to be spending our entire summer here.
We had to cancel a few trips already. Normally we would have gone to Barcelona last week, and this weekend we'd be spending in Antwerp because Celine Dion was going to perform there in the Sportpaleis. Our trip to Milan (early July) is also cancelled already. But I don't mind. We were able to travel to South Africa already, that would have hurt more to cancel. Places in Europe are easy to reach and we can go there another time.
