'k Wil terug naar de kust... These are the first lines of a Flemish song, which is extremely popular now. The government finally gave permission to owners of a second home to visit that place.
So we didn't hesitate to take the train (mouth protection required) and head to Knokke-Heist! We found our flat more or less in order (lots of dust, but that was easily fixed).
The best thing was, that we could go for a walk and enjoy the fresh sea breeze. Wind in the hair, how nice!!! And lots of restaurants and coffee bars that are still not allowed to open, they offered take-away ice-cream, waffles (Brussels or Liegeois), coffee, tea and hot chocolate. We truly enjoyed our afternoon.
The decision came just in time to enjoy the long weekend (yesterday was a catholic feast, and nearly everyone gets the Friday off as well. And next week we'll return for another long weekend, as there is another holiday coming up.
