Marti Pellow

Quite recently, I booked tickets for the UK tour of Evita. I've never seen this musical before, but the main reason for doing so was that Marti Pellow will play Che Guevara.

Pellow has a great voice. In December 2011 my sister and I were in London, and went to see 'Blood Brothers'. We did not pay much attention to the play list, but found that the Narrator had a great voice. Afterwards, we went to check out the names, and noticed that this role was done by Marti Pellow.

                                                         Marti Pellow as The Narrator

Pellow is Scottish (born in 195) and became the lead singer of the band Wet, Wet, Wet. Who doesn't know Love is all around? Pellow pretty much was Wet, Wet, Wet. But because of his addiction to booze and drugs (I've heard this from a guy who organizes concerts, so I know it must be true) the band split up and he went into rehab. Did a better job than Amy Winehouse on that score...

Truth be told, even when he was pissed or somewhere near Mars, Pellow always did his gigs and never gave forfait. And once on stage, you couldn't hear he was under an influence. Shows how good his voice must be.

So we're again looking forward to a trip to the UK. This time to Salford (near Manchester) where the musical will play in The Lowry. Continue doing this, and we'll have seen the best part of the UK! We know London pretty well already, and begin to know Liverpool and Cardiff. And next summer we'll be in Scotland (whisky and men in kilt...).
